Liverpool FC (LFC) is stepping into the world of digital collectible art with the launch of their first official NFT collection, the LFC Heroes Club. A fun and creative way to pay tribute to fans, this collection includes illustrations of 24 players from the LFC men’s team, bringing to life their individual characteristics and “heroic” qualities.
As part of their “The Red Way” sustainability initiative, LFC is committed to having a positive impact on the environment. Therefore, the sale takes place over 3 days, from Wednesday, March 30 to Friday, April 1 and will be deployed and managed on Polygon, a very energy-efficient blockchain.
To make the NFT accessible to its entire fan base, the club created two digital collectibles catalogs—a set of 24 unique “Legends” NFTs (1 in 1) and an NFT “Hero Edition” series that combines numerous player illustrations to create a unique digital collection for each fan.
Backers who own LFC NFT can also join the community of creative fans, with access to LFC community forums, one-of-a-kind experiences, virtual hangouts, contests, sales discounts on retail LFC, and so on, all while raising funds for the LFC Foundation and supporting activities in Liverpool and beyond. The club also made it clear to supporters that their NFTs are digital collectible art and should not be considered an investment.

This is why we chose to partner with Sotheby’s due to the ability to create NFTs on an energy-efficient blockchain. “
